Hi all,

Need your help!

I have a customer who runs a SQL Server 2005 and our product connects to this database. Usually the sqlservr.exe will consume 2-3 GB memory. But recently it will goes up steadily per the performance counters we captured. At the end it will reach to 8 GB and at that time the end user of the system will suffer from the slowness and the administrator has to restart the database.

This server is dedicated for our application. The other database instances in the MSSQL is for performing some specific task but not happening frequently.

Below is the server information
Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition Service Pack1
IBM XSERIES_3650
Intel Xeon CPU E5405@2.00GHz
10.0GB RAM

Disk configuration
No RAID. Two disks.

Service Pack of SQL Server: not checked yet.

Now customer is being in a worse situation. They have to restart the SQL Server every 2 days. So far I don't have too much knowledge of our product, so I want to look at the database side directly.

So is there any tools or ways I can use to figure out who is consuming the memory? Then I can tell our developers to fix that part of the program.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Leon
