SQL 2008 R2 resorces allocation

Dear All,

I am new to SQL Server, I have some doubts in my mind regarding the resource allocation in SQL 2008 R2.

In my current setup I have single SQL instance with multiple databases. So

01) Is it possible to allocate memory for each database manually?

02) I want to have separate user accounts for each database, as an example "ABC" user should able access "DEF" database only. How I get it done?

03) one of the database, log file growth is very high and when I asked from Dev team they said they need everything to be archived. So what is the most suitable way to archiving and control of log growth? I know in Oracle we have different ways to manage archive logs but SQL i prefer to have most convenient way to do that.

and last out of the topic, Since we have number of SQL databases is it possible to have different schema's in single SQL database instead of having multiple DB's. I am still trying to understand the concept behind that but still I have some unclear areas.

Highly appreciating your expert advice on this. I am heading to SQL DB consolidation project and your thoughts and advices and highly valuable.

Best regards,

Manjula
