I have microsoft SQL Server 2008 on computer, I have not used this tool for several months, but when I came back to it, I can't be connected microsoft sql server 2008 cannot connect to local machine, I don't need to be connected to the server, and I didn't have any problem in the past. I select Server Type: Database, Server name: GGGGGNNNNN-LAPTOP and Authentication Windows Authentication.
it gives this message: Cannot connect to GUITY-LAPTOP.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. That was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections(Provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error:2).
What is the problem? How can I fix it? Could that be because I don't have internet connection?
