Any performance impact due to increasing the frequency of transactional logbackup?

 Hi,

We are having a Sql Clustered instance of SqlServer 2008 R2 running
on windows server 2008 R2. We have about 83 databases in the instance.
Our servers run on Intel Xeon(R) CPU X5670 @2.94 GHz with 6 cores(12 logical processor).
The servers are having 12GB of RAM.
We were till now taking only one transactional log backup every day at 12.00PM
for datbases under full recovery and one full backup on thursday every week. Now
we plan to take transactional log backup of all databases under full recovery
on a hourly basis from 7.00 AM to 6.00 PM every day and one full backup of all
databases at 12.00 PM daily. We are also gathering 30 counters through performance
monitor. What would be the impact on performance if the frequency of transactional
log backups is increased from 1 in a day to 1 in an hour during office hours. In this
context which counter/s in the performon should I monitor to assess any performance
degradation due to introduction of hourly transactional log backup.
Thanking you in advance,

Binny
