Server shutdown details not appearing in error log

Hi,

The server got stopped suddenly and when checked, the server shutdown details are not found in error log. I manually stopped a test server 3 times from configuration manager and I was able to see the server shutdown details were appearing only twice. Can any one tel me what can be done to exactly know when a server is stopped and its details?
