Hi,
I've configured several identical data collector sets(from template), on a number of servers, using identical odbc, the neccesary permissions(Performance Log users, user dbowner, on the sql database), to collect performance counter into an sql 2008 database.
The data collectors are configured to start at 8 am and finish at 8pm, and restart at limits.
No issues with sql, sql permissions, windows permissions.
But for some bizzare reason, randomly it seems, the data collectors sometimes do not start and give the following errors:
event id 3042, source PDH:
Call to SQLExecDirect failed with [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Insert bulk failed due to a schema change of the target table..
followed by:
Call to SQLExecDirect failed with [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Query timeout expired.
and in the end:
Call to SQLExecDirect failed with .
Starting the data collector manually sometimes works on the first try, sometimes on the second or third try.
Someone suggested disabling autostats on the database tables, but it doesn't work.
