Has anyone had an issue with getting duplicate values from a sequence object?
We are using SQL Server 2012 SP1 and ran into an issue this weekend. We had patches applied to our SQL Server server and it looks like after it was rebooted, we had a set of about 22 sequence numbers that were duplicated shortly after.
If I look at the sequence in sys.sequences, is_cached is currently set to 1 however cache_size is set to null.
During the reboot, could it be possible that SQL Server could not have been shut down properly and the current sequence value could have been lost? Would setting the cache_size fix this?
